Product Details

The Axel Mk3 Dining Table brings together deeply weathered reclaimed boat wood and a hand-treated industrial steel base, creating a substantial dining table with the character of materials shaped by years of use and exposure.

The slatted tabletop retains variations in grain, tone, texture, old markings, and naturally weathered character, while the X-style steel framework gives the piece a strong architectural foundation. Available in five lengths, Axel can scale from more compact dining arrangements to expansive entertaining spaces.

Product Details:

  • Finish: GRVBW Natural
  • Material: Genuine Reclaimed Vintage Boatwood / Steel
  • Tabletop: Slatted reclaimed-wood construction
  • Base: X-style industrial steel frame
  • Size Options: Extra Small / Small / Medium / Large / Extra Large
  • Intended Use: Indoor dining

Materials & Construction:

The tabletop is crafted from reclaimed boat wood sourced from decommissioned fishing vessels, preserving the weathering, tonal movement, grain variation, old markings, and surface character developed over time.

The latest Mk3 construction uses a smoother and more evenly finished tabletop while retaining the distinctive character associated with reclaimed timber. A hand-treated steel base with X-style bracing provides structural contrast and gives the table its industrial architectural profile.

Because reclaimed wood is inherently variable, each table will differ in color, texture, grain, markings, and surface character. Natural checking or cracking may develop over time and is considered part of the material's character rather than a manufacturing defect.

Application & Sizing:

The Extra Small and Small versions work well in more compact dining rooms and everyday dining spaces.

The Medium size provides additional seating capacity while maintaining a balanced footprint for medium-to-large rooms.

The Large and Extra Large versions are designed for substantial dining rooms, open-plan interiors, and larger entertaining settings where the table can serve as a strong architectural centerpiece.

Before ordering, confirm doorway widths, hallway turns, elevators, stairways, and final-room access, particularly for the 96" and 118" sizes.

Care Instructions:

  • Routine Care: Wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use.
  • Protection: Use coasters, placemats, and protective pads beneath tableware and decorative objects.
  • Avoid: Mineral oil, abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, excessive moisture, and standing water.
  • Moving: Never drag the table. Lift with appropriate assistance when repositioning.
  • Hardware: Periodically inspect the table and retighten fittings if required.

Timothy Oulton's assembly guidance specifically advises against mineral oil, recommends soft dry-cloth cleaning, and states that heavy furniture should be lifted rather than dragged.

Notes:

  • Reclaimed wood naturally varies in grain, color, texture, markings, and weathering.
  • Natural cracking or checking may occur over time and is not considered a defect.
  • Each piece is individually finished, so exact appearance will vary from the photographs shown.
  • Due to the size and weight of the table, professional handling is recommended, particularly for the larger configurations.
